Manually operated breathing apparatus for patients

The apparatus comprises a drive unit (14,15) with a longitudinal sliding piston rod (16) which drives a lifting piston (17) directly or indirectly operating upon the side wall of a manually operated breathing bag (2). The stroke and frequency of the lifting piston's strokes can be adjusted. The bag is placed inside a rectangular-sectioned housing (6) with an opening in it. The drive unit is driven by medicinal oxygen out of a tank. The piston rod of the piston cylinder unit (15) drives the lifting piston. The oxygen expelled during the backward thrust of the piston cylinder unit is conveyed from the piston cylinder unit into the breathing bag or feed to the patient.
