The annulus (2) is part of a planetary transmission. The assembly consists of an annulus (2) with a sun-wheel (1) and at least one planetary gear (3) between them. The overlapping ratio between the teeth between the annulus and planetary wheel is as great as or only slightly greater than that between the sun-wheel and the planetary wheel. The width of the tooth gaps (7) of the internal teeth of the annulus is such that only every other tooth of the planetary wheel is engaged with one tooth of the annulus.
