Silicone compounds containing sterically hindered cyclic amine functional groups which can be used for the heat and light stabilization of polymers

Straight, cyclic or branched polyorganosiloxanes having at least three siloxyl units per molecule, including at least one functional unit of formula (I), wherein R<1> is a C1-4 alkyl radical or phenyl, and X contains a secondary or tertiary cyclic amine function bound to the silicon via a Si-A-C bond, where A is a purely hydrocarbon residue with low carbon condensation. Said cyclic amine function may be a sterically hindered piperidinyl function bound to the silicon via a Si-A-C bond, where A is a methylene, dimethylene or trimethylene residue. The use of such polyorganosiloxanes in polymers, in particular for improving the light-stability thereof, is also disclosed.
