<p>PURPOSE:To surely restrain the generation of CaO base inclusions in an alloy by strongly stirring molten Fe-Ni base alloy in an oxygen blowing refining furnace under the existence of basic slag after deoxidizing and removing the slag, executing pre-deoxidation and successively, executing finish-deoxidation under weak stirring. CONSTITUTION:The Fe-Ni base alloy is melted in the oxygen blowing refining furnace. Then the molten Fe-Ni alloy in the furnace is finish-deoxidized after deoxidizing and removing the slag. In the refining in the deoxidizing period, at first, the molten alloy is strongly stirred under existence of the basic slag and the pre-deoxidation is executed. This strong stirring is executed by increasing the amt. of blowing Ar gas up to about 30Nl/min.ton. Successively, the finish deoxidation is executed under weak stirring at a rate of about 2Nl/ min.ton Ar gas blowing quantity and the CaO base inclusions once trapped in the molten alloy are absorbed into the slag at the interface of the metal and the slag. By this method, the generation of the CaO base inclusions in the Fe-Ni base alloy is prevented and the cleanliness of the molten material is improved without using a vacuum induction furnace.</p> |
