The cardboard box is made from a cardboard piece consisting of cut-outs and folds (40,48) for defining the base (30), side walls (32,34,36,38) and flaps (44,46). The forming machine comprises a vertically movable assembly (70) consisting of four holding pieces (72,74,76,78) which are applied to the corners of the bottom of the cardboard piece. These pieces are each connected by a horizontal arm (80) to vertical rods (82) which are connected together by horizontal beams (84). The arm is fixed to the end of the holding piece at a distance from the lateral wall (34). This leaves place for the folding down of the upper part (54a) of the extension (54). <IMAGE> |
