PURPOSE:To obtain a nonformalin-based cellulosic fiber having excellent wrinkle and shrink resistances by impregnating cellulosic fiber with a specific polycarboxylic acid and an organic carbonate and then heat-treating the resultant fibers. CONSTITUTION:This method for producing nonformalin-based cellulosic fibers is to impregnate the cellulosic fibers with a treating liquid containing a polycarboylic acid, e.g. tricarballylic acid, aconitic acid, citric acid, malic acid and butanetetracarboxylic acid (especially 1,2,3,4-butanetetracarboxylic acid) and an organic carbonate, e.g. a dialkyl ester, a diaryl ester or an alkylene ester (especially ethylene carbonate or propylene carbonate), preferably further polyols and/or silicones and carry out the heat treatment. The resultant nonformalin-based cellulosic fibers have wrinkle and shrink resistances and further pleating properties. Ethylene glycol or glycerol, etc., containing two alcoholic hydroxyl groups can be exemplified as the polyol and amino-modified silicones, etc., can be exemplified as the silicones. |
