PURPOSE:To prevent a balloon from being dropped or exploded even when an operating person erroneously expands the balloon too much. CONSTITUTION:Concerning the balloon sheath, a balloon 5 to be expanded/ shrunk is fitted and fixed through a mouth ring 30 to the top end of a flexible armour sheath 4, and ultrasonic observation is performed by expanding the balloon 5 by inserting an ultrasonic probe 6 inside and injecting in ultrasonic transmission medium. The mouth ring 30 is equipped with a notched part 31, for which one part of a flange in the balloon fitting side is notched, and the fixing strength of the balloon is partially weakened at a balloon fixing part 32 corresponding to the notched part 31. When the operating person erroneously expands the balloon 5 too much, one part of the balloon 5 at the part of the notched part 31 gets out of the mouth ring 30, water inside the balloon flows out, and the balloon 5 is neither exploded nor dropped, but shrinks. |
