PURPOSE: To provide a catheter type electric catalyst glucose sensor which can be implanted in a blood vessel or under the skin, can be produced easily, and has a long stability necessary for implanted tissues. CONSTITUTION: A tubular base body of this sensor made of biocompatible material is divided into 3 sections. A sleeve-type standard electrode is mounted between the first and the second sections or between the second and the third sections of the tubular base body, and a sleeve-type motion electrode with a slit extending in the whole length in the longitudinal direction is mounted between the second and the third sections or between the first and the second sections of the tubular base body. A hydrophilic diaphragm is stretched over a motion electrode. The rim of the diaphragm is engaged inside a slit by wedges made of biocompatible material which are inserted into the slit inside the electrode. One end of the tubular base body is closed with the electrodes opposite to each other, and a lead wire for the electrodes guided from the other end of the tubular base body to the outside is attached inside the tubular base body. |
