PURPOSE:To provide a safe, hygienic and granular oxygen absorbent and the production method of the adsorbent having sufficient oxygen absorbing rate and easy for handling. CONSTITUTION:The oxygen absorbent is obtained by granulating a principal component 1 composed of a compound having enediol group such as ascorbic acid or low molecular phenols and a pH adjusting agent 2 composed of a basic material such as sodium carbonate in solid sate. It is preferable to granulate so as to form a coated layer of one of the principal component 1 or the pH adjusting agent on the surface of another one. A surface fusion method is adopted for the granulation. |
