The cooling system module (3) is fitted in the engine (1) cooling circuit. The module has a rigid case housing a first chamber (4) for the coolant fluid and carrying a circulation pump (7) for the fluid. The pump inlet (112) communicates with this chamber. The module fluid inlet (45,46,48) is connected to the engine coolant outlet, and the module outlet to the engine coolant intake. The chamber has in its upper part a space for collection of gas (23) coming from the coolant. The gas is exhausted to atmosphere through a valve (24). The valve is a float valve, allowing gas to exit when gas pressure forces down the level of coolant in the collection chamber. Electrical contacts (127) indicate abnormally low coolant level.
