One or more contacts (4) are mounted on the sides of the case for access by the user. The case is seated between the thumb and index finger so that the index finger can exert the appropriate pressure. On pressing or holding down a first contact, a list of geographical areas is displayed in alphanumeric form and data (5) is selected by pressing a second contact. The display can alternate between the place name and the frequency. Where the length of the name exceeds the character length of the display, it scrolls right to left. It can include satellite and cable channels as well as terrestrial broadcasts.
