Elastic fastener for fixing fittings on steering column

The fastener is adapted to engage in a slot (5) in the fitting (3) and to be fastened by bolts onto the rest of the vehicle structure. The fastener has a base (7) with a passage hole (8) for the fastening bolt. Three folded elastic axial tongues (13,14,15) extend from the base. The central tongue (13) has a passage hole (16) facing the hole in the base for the fastening bolt. The lateral tongues (14,15) fit the edges of the fitting to delimit its slot and elastically clamp the fastener onto the fitting between the tongues and the corresponding portions of the base. The base has projecting parts extending in the direction of the central tongue which form stop surfaces during clamping of the fastener.
