The table base (1) is made from stainless steel plate filled with concrete and includes two recessed wheels (3) and two adjustable feet (2). a pillar (4) of similar construction is fixed to the base (1) by means of rods engaging in embedded emplacments. The variable height tabletop (18) is fixed to another member (10) which moves but remains vertical. The parallelogram is completed by two swinging members (11) (16) which are pivoted (13) about the two vertical members. The mechanism is actuated by an electrically controlled jack (21) articulated between an arm (12) and table top strut (19).
