<p>A joint of a playpen comprises a shell with a first block pivotally received in the shell and defining a longitudinal recess, and a longitudinal slot in communication with the longitudinal recess. A second block is pivotally received in the shell. A first tubular element secured in a tubular rail defines a longitudinal slit with an open end, a first axial passage, and a second axial passage, while a second tubular element secured in another tubular rail defines a first axial passage and a second axial passage. A first bolt with a head is inserted through the second axial passage defined in the first tubular element and secured to the first block, while the head is retained in the first axial passage defined in the first tubular element. A second bolt with a head is inserted through the second axial passage defined in the second tubular element and secured to the second block, while the head is retained in the first axial passage defined in the second tubular element. A spring is received in the longitudinal recess defined in the first block, and a latch is received in the longitudinal recess defined in the first block. The latch is biased by the spring into the longitudinal slit, thus keeping the shell from being pivoted relative to the tubular rail. The latch can be disengaged from the longitudinal slit, thus allowing the shell to be pivoted relative to the tubular rail.</p> |
