A vehicle body has a window cut-out (2) with a window-supporting flange (3) and a connecting rib (4) at right angles to it. A windscreen (1) is supported on the flange (3) by an adhesive strip (6) running around the window opening (2). The windscreen (1) edge is enclosed in an elastomeric seal (8) with a U-shaped groove (9). The groove wall (9') parallel to the flange (3) has a butyl rubber coating (11) with high frictional properties. USE/ADVANTAGE - The seal arrangement is used to locate window glass in bodywork openings and permits accurate fitting irrespective of mfg. tolerances between the connecting rib of the window cut-out and the seal.
