The imaging system uses a series of individual measurements, each having a nuclear spin stimulation phase in which stimulation pulses (RF) are supplied, a coding phase, in which the nuclear spin is phase coded via at least one phase coding gradient (GP1 - GP3) and a read-out phase, for read-out of the nuclear magnetic resonance signal corresponding to the point defined by the phase coding gradients. Each read-out signal is entered in a matrix space, the measuring sequence repeated a number of times with different phase codings. One of the phase coding gradients (GP1) is held constant for a group of individual measurements, with its amplitude varied from one measuring sequence to the next.
