Axial needle bearing ring for use between rotating disc of rotary valve

The bearing ring consists of two flat sheet metal half rings (2a, 2b) with regularly spaced radial slots (9) in which needle rollers are mounted. The rollers protrude either side of the flat faces of the ring. The ends of the ring halves have extensions (15, 14) and cut-outs (13) which interlock, so that the halves can be assembled without the use of screws. The assembled bearing can rotate freely between the discs of the valve which have openings for the throughlet of e.g. steam. The rollers which are mounted in the ring are retained in the slots by slight deformation along the edges of the slots.
