<p>A method for handling of a document in a printer and a printer in which obliquely-inserted documents (16) of different thicknesses are automatically aligned by means of a system of cooperating feed rollers (8, 10) providing the alignment while slipping on the document. The weight of the rollers is used for the generation of an engagement pressure on the document which is adapted to the document thickness. The method of document alignment can be integrated in the document feed device of a printer, thus saving space and cutting costs.</p> |
