<p>The proposed drying chamber comprises: a sealed housing (1); a trolley (2) for moving the stack (3) of lumber to be dried; a high-frequency generator (4); a channel (5) by which heated air is removed; a channel (10) for feeding in cooling air; current-carrying bars (6); a system for applying high-frequency voltage to the electrodes (7); a metal cowl (8); an evacuation system (9), a water cooling system (12), a system (11) for collecting and removing condensate. The arrangement allows a uniform electrical field to be maintained both along the length of the stack (3) and over its height by enlarging the powering points of the electrodes (7) and moving them through an angle of 0.5-2.0 degrees relative to the side walls of the stack (3), thereby ensuring that the timber is heated evenly throughout.</p> |
