The shooting head for a core shooting machine incorporates a shooting plate (12), through which sand is shot into the core box (13) cavity. The plate (12) is provided with a single slot (14) or an elongated opening formed by several holes. One or more cover elements are inserted into the shooting plate to partially cover the opening (14,) and to form a configuration of shooting channels which correspond to the inlet configuration of the core box.
