An absorbent article (1) comprises a relatively high absorbent capacity in t he back half section (19) and a liquid barrier means (37) between the transvers e center line (15) of the core (3) and the back waist edge (34) of the backshe et (26). Hereby leakage from the back of the absorbent article is reduced and t he product is especially adapted for bedridden incontinent users ranging from walking infants to adults.
