A method of controlling dust of a powdery material by subjecting a mixture of polytetrafluoroethylene with the powdery material to compression and shearing at a temperature of about 20 to 200 °C to thereby fibrilize the polytetrafluoroethylene, characterized by using an aqueous emulsion of a tetrafluoroethylene homopolymer having a specific gravity of 2.20 or less and an average particle diameter of 0.10-0.50 νm and containing at least 1.0 wt.% of a hydrocarbon anionic surfactant, based on the polymer, as an emulsification stabilizer. The emulsion is highly stable and is less likely to pollute underground water.
|
