The direction finding system provides the target direction in azimuth and elevation using a planar antenna array, with evaluation of the phase difference values between the received signals provided by designated pairs of antenna elements. The measured phase difference values are obtained for a sequence of possible antenna element configurations and projected onto a multi-dimensional phase space with a defined phase space grid, using a linear transformation matrix, with subsequent grid quantisation for selecting grid points used for determining the direction. <IMAGE> |
