PURPOSE:To continuously produce dead low carbon high oxygen content steel under good workability by using dicalcium silicate as main base material in molten surface protecting agent for continuous casting and specifying the viscosity. CONSTITUTION:The molten surface protecting agent for using by adding into a mold in the continuous casting is constituted by the base material composing of 35-90wt.% the dicalcium silicate (2CaO.SiO2) in the total blend and the balanced part of fluoride of NaF, etc., and material conditioner, and the viscosity thereof is adjusted to >=3 poise at 1,300 deg.C. In the case of adding carbonic material, the carbon content is regulated to <=1.0wt.%. As this molten surface protecting agent is adjusted to sufficiently slow fusing speed, excessive slag layer thickness caused by rapid fusing on the molten steel can be prevented. |
