<p>PURPOSE:To provide the heating method for a grain oriented electrical steel slab, by which the slab can uniformly be heated by induction and a furnace hearth is not damaged. CONSTITUTION:At the time of heating the electrical steel slab to high temp. in an induction heating furnace, temps. of the supporting side face of the slab and the furnace hearth are detected, respectively, and cooling water flow rate for the furnace hearth is adjusted so that the furnace hearth temp. becomes almost equal to the temp. near the supporting side face of the slab based on the above detected temps. As the temp. near the supporting side face of the slab can be controlled with high accuracy, the slab is uniformly heated over the whole body.</p> |
