PURPOSE:To provide a magnet roll constituted so that sufficient magnetic force is obtained even when it is miniaturized and a supporting part is provided with sufficient strength. CONSTITUTION:The magnet roll 1 is the cylindrical body provided with a through-hole 2 whose cross section is D-shaped. Besides, it is molded by extruding a substance (magnetic material) obtained by mixing magnetic powder in a coupling material such as synthetic resin or rubber and constituted so that about 2-8 magnetic poles set in parallel with an axial direction and in a circumferential direction are alternately magnetized to the S pole and the N pole. Then, when it is assembled, one end side thereof is engaged with a sliding member 6 fitted to the inside circumferential surface of a developer carrier 3 and the other end side thereof is supported by engaging the projection part of a supporting member 4 with the hole 2.
