A number p of indicator lamps is arranged in a display panel with m rows and n columns. A picture period consists of k cycles, and the video signals is applied to the input of a comparator with k different adjustable thresholds. Comparator output is stored in a buffer store, whose output signals, appearing at parallel outputs, control the switching on of lamps. The threshold is varied within each cycle, always after scanning R picture points, so that the sequence of the different thresholds periodically repeats itself. The value of the first threshold level in each cycle is also periodically changed, with the sequence of different cycle beginnings repeating itself after every k cycles. |
