PURPOSE:To provide a water hammer preventing device of simple structure which can be constructed easily and at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:A forming visco-elastic substance member 38 is installed in a component part 18 of a water supply device including a water cock 10 and a water conduit connected with a main pipe for water distribution and leading the water from it and supplying the water therefrom through a discharge port of the water cock 10 in such a way as in communication to a water supply path 20 leading from the main pipe to the discharge port.
