PURPOSE:To cut the gate of a molded product (work) having a gate provided to the side surface thereof without damaging the side surface of the molded product. CONSTITUTION:A work 4 having a gate 10 is held on a horizontally supported work receiving stand 35 having a work fixing means and an edge guide 31 so that the gate root part 7 of the gate is allowed to approach the edge guide 31, and a gate cutting blade 9 is attached in a shakable manner so that the edge thereof is turned downwardly. A gate cutting support lever 12 equipped with an elastomer 33 energizing the edge of the gate cutting blade 9 in the direction separated from the side surface of the work 4 is allowed to vertically fall on the work receiving stand 35 to bring the gate cutting blade 9 into contact with the edge guide 31 and further allowed to fall to guide the edge of the gate cutting blade to the gate root part 7 to cut gate 10. |
