<p>PURPOSE:To realize equipment for path selection with hardware of a small capacity economically by carrying out an address translation with a small memory capacity at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:In the address translation processing by which a packet exchange selects a path based on a destination address, the exchange is provided with a memory 68 for retrieving a path from part of the destination address and a memory 67 for retrieving a path from all the destination address and when the retrieval is successful by both the memories, either of the paths is selected, or plural memories 68 for retrieving the path from part of the destination address are provided and when the retrieval by two memories or over is successful, any of the paths is selected similarly to above.</p> |
