PARTIALLY FOAMED THERMALLY MOLDED CONTAINER AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain a foamed container intentionally made non-uniform in wall thickness distribution or sheet density by constituting a foamed core layer of a specific foam and forming a protruding part only to the outer surface of a container and setting the foaming magnification of the protruding part to a predetermined range and making the foaming magnification of a recessed part lower than that of the foamed core layer. CONSTITUTION:A partially foamed thermally molded container is obtained by thermally molding a laminated sheet having at least a two-layered structure consisting of a foamed core layer and non-foamed layers on both sides thereof. The foamed core layer consists of a thermoplastic resin, an inorg. filler and a foaming agent and is formed by compounding the thermoplastic resin and the inorg. filler in a ratio of 99.9-75:0.1-25wt.% and composed of a foam with an open cell ratio of 30-100%. Protruding parts are formed only to the outer surface of the container and the foaming magnificatlon N of the protruding parts is within a range of 1.2<=k<=4 in the relation of N=kXn when the foaming magnification of the foamed core layer of the laminated sheet before molding is set to (n). The foaming magnification of recessed parts is lower than that of the foamed core layer of the laminated sheet before molding.
