Device for controlled handling of heavy loads in a storage pond

Device comprises a large shock absorber with a floating piston descending into a rigid cylinder when a heavy load is lowered into a storage pond. The cylinder consists of an upper section with an open slot for water displacement. The lower section is not slotted and it acts as a strong damper if e.g. a crane cable snaps and a load falls.
