PURPOSE:To attain extension of a life of a fuel cell by providing an insulation coating of sufficient film thickness, having heat resistance and corrosion resistance, integrally formed with a gas manifold in an internal surface of the gas manifold and in a surface of a flange part brought into contact with an element cell layer built unit. CONSTITUTION:In an internal surface of a gas manifold 8 and in a surface of a flange part 8C brought into contact with an element cell laminated unit 1, an insulation coating 10, consisting of a fluororesin having heat resistance and corrosion resistance, is provided as an insulation reinforcing film to be integrally formed with the manifold 8 mechanically by a retaining part 11. Here is formed the coating 10 in a sufficient thickness of about several millimeters in order to prevent generating corrosion in a constitutional material of the manifold 8 due to gas permeability. Thus by markedly improving phosphoric acid resistance and separation durability of the gas manifold, corrosion due to permeating steam gas containing phosphoric acid is prevented, and a fuel cell of long life with high reliability can be obtained. |
