摘要

PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a tape cassette, to increase the amt. of information stored and to reduce the size of a magnetic recording and reproducing device. CONSTITUTION:A metallic magnetic thin film is formed on one side of a nonmagnetic substrate and a back coating layer based on a powdery nonmagnetic pigment contg. carbon powder and a binder is formed on the other side. The carbon powder content of the nonmagnetic pigment is >=20wt.%, the weight ratio of the pigment to the binder is 0.5-2 and the thickness of the back coating layer is >=0.2mum. The surface electric resistance of the metallic magnetic thin film and that of the back coating layer are <=10<6>OMEGA/sqmu. each.
