PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a reception disabled state as less as possible by releasing a part of a memory used by a 1st function when a request of a 2nd function having higher priority is generated during the execution of the 1st function and the capacity of the memory is lacking. CONSTITUTION:When a user is executing the copying of many originals at the time of receiving a facsimile (FAX) from the external, printing in execution at present is continuously executed first of all. The data of a part having completed its printing are erased from a page memory 403. When a FAX file buffer 802 is filled with data, printing being executed at present is immediately stopped. Data whose printing is stopped are erased from the memory 403, so that a free area is formed. FAX received data overflowed from a FAX file buffer 802 are transferred to the free area successively from its head. The FAX received data are sent to a printer 50 through a CODEC 404 and printed out. After completing the printing of the FAX received data, the existence of interrupted printing processing is checked, and when the processing concerned exists, aborted printing is restarted. |
