摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a plastic optical fiber which is good in both of moldability and transmission loss by forming a core material layer of a copolymer composed of specific repeating units. CONSTITUTION:The core material layer of the plastic optical fiber consisting of a core-sheath structure consists of the copolymer composed of the repeating units expressed by formula I and formula II. The sheath material layer is formed by dipping the core material layer consisting of core fibers of the copolymer of BPSO2 and BPO into a soln. prepd. by dissolving a resin for the sheath material into a solvent, then drying the core magnetic layer or the sheath material layer is formed by applying the soln. prepd. by dissolving the resin for the sheath material into the solvent on the core material layer, then drying the core material layer or a method for melt composite spinning of the resin for forming the core and the resin for forming the sheath to a core-sheath structure is usable as well in order to form the sheath material on the front layer of the core material layer. The structure of such a case is formed of the core material layer and the sheath material layer as a basic unit from the inside or is formed of the core material layer, sheath material layer and protective layer as a basic constituting unit from the inside.
