The machine consists of a loading stage and an unloading stage (10) of the work pieces, a gear cutting stage (11) provided with a drive (23) to rotate the piece being machined as required for that form of machining, and a machining stage for forming a lead on the edges of the gear teeth (12) with a drive (23) rotating the piece being machined as required for that stage of machining. A transfer unit (18,19) is provided to pass the piece from one stage to the other which is associated with an angular indexation (24,25,26) to progressively move the piece from the gear cutting stage to the gear lead forming stage of the machine tool.
