The device for the heat contraction of a sheath (7) covering a load (6) has two heaters (2), a load reception chamber (1) and chamber ventilators (10). The ventilators draw a vertical air flow (8) between the chamber internal faces and the sheath from the top to the bottom and evacuate the air from the chamber creating a vacuum which inflates the sheath. The ventilation system has an air flow amplifier gallery (10) comprising a supply duct with a low compressed air flow which causes chamber air flow. The chamber forms a bellows mounted vertically on a crossbeam (3) which flattens and opens the bellows allowing the bringing in and exiting of the load. The heaters comprise a frame surrounding the sheath covered load which provide hot air onto the sheath.
