<p>PURPOSE:To obtain such a toner that can be fixed at low fixing temp., has offset preventing property, fixing strength to a transfer sheet and excellent image characteristics by incorporating a specified binder resin and depositing a metal alkoxide on the surface of the toner. CONSTITUTION:This toner contains a binder resin having the acid value or hydroxyl group value of >1 and the surface is coated with metal alkoxide. This toner is produced by producing fine particles containing a binder resin having the acid value or hydroxyl group value of >1, then depositing metal alkoxide on the surface of the obtd. fine particles, and subjecting the particles to heat treatment or a treatment to give mechanical shocks. When a polyester resin is used for the binder resin, a resin having the acid value or hydroxyl group value of >1 can be easily obtd. A styrene resin can be used as well as the polyester resin for the binder resin. These resins are synthesized by suspension polynm., emulsion polymn. or soln. polymn. of monomers. The monomers are styrenes such as styrene, alpha-methylstyrene and cholorostyrene. The metal alkoxide is used as a crosslinking agent for the binder resin.</p> |
