CONSTITUTION:The magnified images of the optical fibers are obtd. by photographing the optical fibers 1a, 1b from sideways of the propagating direction of guided light by an image obtaining means 6 and the distribution of the characteristics of the images corresponding to the positions in the radial direction of the optical fiber images from the magnified images obtd. in such a manner. The directions of the rotating directions around the central axes of the optical fibers as the axis of rotation are measured from the distribution of the characteristics of the images. The directions of the rotating directions of the optical fibers 1a, 1b are adjusted by optical fiber rotating members 9a, 9b in accordance with the result of the measurement.
