PURPOSE:To provide a focus detection device capable of detecting a focusing point of an intended subject even when perspective subjects exist in a finder view. CONSTITUTION:A pair of subject luminous fluxes passing through a photographing lens are received, and two image signals are outputted to a CPU 1 by a pair of line sensors 4. The CPU 1 divides the image signals to plural view blocks, and operates a matching degree between two images at every view block, and outputs a reliable value for evaluating the operation result of the matching degree between two images. Then, the CPU 1 evaluates the matching degree between two images and the reliable value, and selects a focus detection view based on the view block in which the matching degree between two images and the reliable value are satisfied with a prescribed condition, and detects the focusing point by the view. |
