A plug (10) which automatically allows fluid out of a container if its temperature exceeds a predetermined safe temperature is disclosed. The plug (10) can be mounted on a bimetallic support (12) which expands to release the plug from a water outlet if the safe temperature is exceeded. Alternatively a shape-memory effect material can be used for the support (12), the change in state of such member on the safe temperature being exceeded being utilised to release the plug (10). |
