PURPOSE: To provide the material capable of hydrogenation for electrode which can be sufficiently charged and discharged particularly under the rapid operation. CONSTITUTION: A material is characterized by a single phase of a general formula: Zr1-x Tix Nia Mnb Alc Cod Ve (in the formula, x is 0.036-0.456, a is 0.7-0.9, b is 0.7-0.9, c is 0-0.2, d is 0.1-0.2, e is 0.05-0.3, a+e is 0.8-1.2, b+c+d is 0.8-1.2, a+b+c+d+e is 1.9-2.1. Whereby the material can be used as the material capable of hydrogenation for a negative electrode of a nickel metal hydride storage battery having a hexagonal system C14(MgZn2 ) type 'Laves phase' structure. |
