PURPOSE:To provide a nickel hydride secondary cell excellent in a discharge characteristic particularly in the discharge characteristic at a low temperature. CONSTITUTION:A nickel hydride secondary cell has a positive electrode containing nickel oxide or nickel hydroxide, negative electrode containing a hydrogen storage alloy and an electrolyte consisting of an alkaline water solution. The negative electrode is formed, in a discharge condition, so as to contain hydrogen equivalent to O.002MPa or more at a 30 deg.C balance pressure. Packing density of the hydrogen storage alloy in the negative electrode is adjusted to 5.3g/ml to 5.8g/ml in a part excepting a base unit. |
