PURPOSE:To achieve a quantum operation element which has an extremely low power consumption, speedily performs such operations as exclusive OR, AND, and OR, and can be manufactured by a simple manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION:An upper electrode ELU and a lower electrode ELL are opposingly provided outside a quantum dot QD. Electrons are inputted to the quantum dot QD for two times utilizing light excitation while a bias voltage is applied between the upper electrode ELU and the lower electrode ELL and the presence or absence of the electron input becomes input bit information. Electrons are outputted by applying the light of >=1 energy which resonates to the energy difference between the sub-bands of the quantum dot QD and by measuring the presence or absence of the absorption. The presence or absence of the light absorption becomes output bit information. Exclusive OR and AND operations are performed according to the output. Erasure is made by eliminating bias voltage and causing the recombination of electron positive hole, thus performing AND operation. |
