The bottle cap (22) which fits over a pourer in the neck of a bottle (16), esp. of a valuable liqueur, has a safety closure in the form of a seal made up of a ring which goes round the cap and is held in place on the pourer, and a tongue (46) which is detached along a line of reduced resistance with a series of bridging points (47a) at intervals along it. The seal is made from an injection-moulded plastics, pref. an ABS co-polymer, and the bottle cap cannot be undone without breaking and removing the seal. |
