PURPOSE: To provide a video server system which generates and controls multiple video output streams at comparatively low cost and which contains a new architecture. CONSTITUTION: A video server 10 receives a user request through a distribution network 20. The request is sent to a real time controller(RTC) 60 through a switch 80 and is sent to a system controller(CS) 50. When CS 50 judges the propriety of access and judges that requested data is stored in a data storage system 90, it gives an instruction to RTC 60, approves access and informs RTC 60 of the storage place of data. An archival storage system starts the transcription of video data for plural disks constituting a disk drive array. The respective disks receive the multiple small parts of a movie and the prescribed partial parts of video data are sequentially stored in the respective disks. |
