<p>PURPOSE:To obtain information concerning the movement of a tape by a method wherein it is determined whether an indication proportional to the moved length of the tape is to be indicated or an indication proportional to the rotation of a tape reel is to be indicated by an indicating means in accordance with the running start position information of the tape. CONSTITUTION:It is decided whether a reel rotation period is close to a set value or not and, if it is decided to be close, the present position of a tape 1 is detected by a method proportional to the moved length of the tape 1 and indicated. At that time, for instance, the time indication is performed by an indicator 9 following the necessary calculation process in accordance with a conversion table which shows the relations between a reel rotation angle (number of pulses generated in accordance with the rotation of the reel) and the running length of the tape from the leading end of the tape (length of time). On the other hand, if it is decided to be not close to the set value, it is decided that the reproduction is started from the middle position of the tape and the present position of the tape 2 is detected by a mechanical method and indicated by the indicator 9 and the next step is performed.</p> |
