PURPOSE:To oscillate the light of short wavelength within a specified even if a low-output-power pumping light source is used in a rare-earth ion added short wavelength laser light source device. CONSTITUTION:A laser light source device has a first pumping light source 101, which emits first pumping light 102 having the wavelength of 1,000-1,250nm, a second pumping light source 104, which emits second pumping light 105 having the wavelength of 640-820nm, and an optical fiber 107, wherein an incident part 108 and emitting part 109 are provided and Tm ions are added to a core part by 0.001%-10%. The energy level of a part of the Tm ions undergoes absorption and transition twice by the first pumping light 102. The energy level of the other part of the Tm ions undergoes the ground-state absorption and transition by the second pumping light 105. The energy levels of one part of and the other part of the Tm ions described above undergo the excited-state absorption and transition to the upper level with the first pumping light 105. The inversion distribution state is formed between the upper level and the ground state of the Tm ions. |
