PURPOSE:To provide a foamed insulated wire with high extent of foaming and high strength by forming a foamed insulator with polyolefin, a maleic anhydride-containing polymer, and thermal expansion hollow particles. CONSTITUTION:45 pts.wt. thermal expansion hollow particles and 55 pts.wt. maleic anhydride-containing polymer are carefully kneaded with a mixing roll at 90 deg.C so that the hollow particles are not expanded, and cut to form an expandable pellet. The pellet and a polyethylene pellet are dry-blended in a ratio of 4:6 and put into a screw extruder. A cylinder part is set at 130-150 deg.C and a head part at 165 deg.C, and the mixture is extruded on a conductor such as a tin-plated copper wire while it is foamed to cover the conductor to obtain a foamed insulated wire. Extent of foaming is increased to 71% and even if the wire is wound six times in its own diameter, breakage is not generated and even if stranded, collapse deformation is not produced. |
